Staying Close To The Lord

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us to stay very close to the Lord; to remain always in His Presence.

This is going to be a short and sweet one.  As I’ve said before, that closeness comes from seeking God in everything around us.  It comes by staying in His Word, through prayer, and through praise.  It also comes through that joy we carry within as a result of our seeking Him and abiding in His Presence.

Whenever I feel as if there’s a distance between my spirit and the Lord, I look around to see where I’m at, what am I doing, what am I not doing.  Usually, I find that I’ve gotten off the path and am slipping in my standards and boundaries things…my diligence is lacking, etc.  That’s when it’s time to turn and start seeking Him like a little child that’s lost his/her momma would.

Just My Jesus Showin’…

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that all those miracles are just natural happenings in the spiritual realm.  It’s not a big thing; it’s just my Jesus showing.  LOL  If you operate in just your five senses, or in your flesh, they’ll seem out of the ordinary, or supernatural occurrences, though.  That’s why we have to lose ourselves; step into that sixth sense-the spirit. See, that’s why I don’t think it strange at all when birds talk to me.  And I almost never fall out of my chair anymore, when Jesus does it-I mean, does what I ask. He does catch me off guard every once in awhile…I’m sure He just laughs and laughs whenever He gets me, too; especially after all these years. “I love you, Lord,” she says with a big smile on her face.
The spiritual force behind those natural happenings is cultivated and grown over many hours, days, months, years of time spent with the Lord-walking as a child of God. That force is grown, groomed, fine-tuned, and perfected through many encounters, stumbles, slips, falls, lessons learned-some, hard ones, and a lot of prayers and worship time. The culmination of all of that is great “spiritual Power, operating marvelously,” and more and more perfected.
I want to remind you that I have published my Bible study on Establishing Your Daughter’s House.  I’m working on a new Bible study on Your Glory. Becoming a published author has been an uphill battle, mostly because someone’s been bound and determined to kick my feet out from under me.  But, I hope to have at least a few more books to offer within the next couple of months.  That’s what I’ve been working on, in case anyone is wondering. I’ve posted the link to Establishing Your Daughter’s House below.  I hope it inspires you as much as it did me, when I did the study.

It Requires Remaining Aware of His Love

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we have a refuge in, and from, this world.  We are bid to dwell in God’s love, laughing, trusting, and knowing His Divine Power.

I realized some time ago, that, when I choose to seek God’s love in the world around me, I am always sure to find it.  Sometimes, it’s contained in the tiniest things, or revealed in the smallest of ways, but it’s always there.  When we begin to dwell, to really live in God’s love, we become more and more aware of His Divine Power.  There’s almost no question, whatsoever, of the source of the little “coincidences, miracles, and eleventh hour rescues.”

Just this morning, I walked out to my storage place.  I rearranged my bag for the day, locked up, and headed back down to the entry gate.  The keypad at the exit point wasn’t working.  I rang the manager’s bell a couple of times, finally ringing in Morse Code, “SOS.”  It was about 8:33 a.m.  I sat down to wait for the manager, who would be in at 9 a.m.  I thought, well, I might as well take the time to say my morning prayer.  I hadn’t yet.  I said my amen, and added, “Jesus, please send somebody up here in a hurry.”  No sooner were the words out of my mouth, and one of the office workers showed up.  I told her the keypad wasn’t working.  She asked how long I’d been there, and I said, “Oh, about fifteen minutes.”  She said, “You’re lucky I came in early today; I usually don’t show up until 9:30 a.m.”  I’m so glad Jesus hears our prayers.

Jesus said that he couldn’t work His miracles in some places because of the unbelief.  He asked, “Do you believe…?  He also said, “Your faith has made you well, healed you, saved you, etc.”  Faith activates God’s Divine Power in our lives.  When we make it a point to seek, accept, and reciprocate by living in that love toward ourselves and others, more and more of God’s Divine Power becomes active in our lives.  As this takes place, our faith is fed, and grows.  Walking by faith then becomes easier and easier; like breathing.

Seeking Fullness of Spirit

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that spiritual fullness is required to empower us to overcome the world.  “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5:6)

This is the scripture referenced by the message.  Here’s a direct quote from the message, that will links the message up with that scripture.  “Do not weigh your spirits down with the sins and sorrows of the world.  Only a Christ can do that and live.  Look for the loving, the true, the kindly, the brave in the many all around you.”  That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t care, or care for the world around us.  First, we must know where to draw the line.  Medical personnel practice preventative hygiene and take preventative measures.  As ministers sent out to a sick and hurting world, we need to do the same thing.  Preventative hygiene for us is that looking for the loving, true, kindly, brave, etc.  We find that, not only in the people all around us, but also in the rest of God’s creation.  We find those things also in God’s Word, and in commune with Him through prayer and praise.  When we make this a daily practice, seeking in every place we find ourselves, we can have that spiritual fullness throughout the day.

Bonus: Making Your Will an Offering

eden08122015

This was a pretty awesome revelation, so I’m posting a bonus today.

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we can’t get away from God’s love and caring.  Actually, quoting directly, “you can never go beyond my love and care,” God says.  We are also reminded that He blesses only the things that are right for us-individually.  We’re bid to lay our will  down before Him as an offering.  That’s the first step, isn’t it?  Yeah, I’ve been reminded of that so many times…after trying to do it according to my will, and finding out it didn’t work out so well.

I discovered that diligence in obedience and perseverance are great helps.  Nowadays, I’m diligent regarding my prayer life.  I’m diligent to seek, to ask, and to knock, as Jesus told us to.  When we do this in every circumstance, life changes for the better.  The things you need to seek, to ask, and to enter into change, depending on the circumstances, but the principal of receiving and progress remain.  Sometimes we get ahead of ourselves too, don’t we?  Like, when we’re seeking relief from something, but haven’t sought the cause of the problem yet.  I have memories of some of those instances that still make me laugh at myself.  Thank God that He knows what I’m doing, because, Oh, my God! -Sometimes I don’t know how but by the grace of God that I’m still here.

Laying your will before the Lord isn’t some horrible painful thing when we get the hang of the diligence, perseverance, and obedience thing.  That’s when it is received by Him, and perceived in your spirit as an offering.  You’ll realize that it is actually linking up and coming into one accord with the Lord; becoming one with the Holy Spirit.

Pick Yourself Up, Learn, Go Forward

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we need to drop all the stuff we no longer need, and move forward.  Only in this way can we move freely and unhampered.  We’re bid to forget past failures and sins, and regret nothing.  We are to leave the past behind us.

Something I learned one time, when I found myself on my knees after a failure, is that it sometimes hurts to be honest with yourself.  But, if you want to  gather the treasures up from that fall or failure, you have to be brutally honest with yourself.  Only in the perfect truths can you see clearly to learn the lessons.  The lessons, and the growth of your relationship with God are the treasures you’ll find in those falls and failures.

The treasures we’re allowed to take with us; we need to take them with us.  But the shame, guilt, despair, confusion, etc., we must leave behind us.  Put them out of sight and out of mind.   We don’t need them anymore, do we?   Jesus is just and faithful to forgive us when we confess our sins.  He’s always ready, willing, and more than able to help us when we need Him.  In Christ Jesus, we have constant renewal, restoration, peace and joy, and a hope for tomorrow.  Tomorrow-that means I have a future; and so do you.

His Presence & It’s Promises Are Enough

eden08122015

today’s message from God Calling – A.J> Russell, reminds us that just as the mere presence of a loved one is enough in any adversity, so is the presence of our Lord enough, no matter what you’re going through.  Know that you’re going through; and He’s right there with you.

I wrote this in my post a few days ago, and it fits this message as well.  “No, things aren’t always blissful.  But knowing that mate loves you and you love him/her enough to work things out, to see things through, etc., is bliss. ”  Knowing that God loves us that much, and He does, brings peace and joy welling up within, in any and every storm.  If it doesn’t, get back into His Word, praise Him, and get that back into your spirit until it does.  In quietness and trust is where you’ll find your strength.  If you don’t have peace and joy in the storm, the forces of darkness are robbing you of your strength.  You need to refuel.

God will never leave us or forsake us.  Sometimes it might seem like He’s a million miles away from you in the midst of your storm.  But I promise when the storm ceases, and the sun shines again, you’ll look back and see right where He was the whole time.  He’s got the wheel, every minute, in every storm.

The Roots Must Keep Growing Deeper

eden08122015

Happy Memorial Day, One and All!  May your day be beautiful, and blessed with precious memories.

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we must continue to dig deep into the things of God-His Word, Encouragement in the Spirit, People places and things that build up and strengthen faith and spirit, etc.  Keeping faith and spirit strong is crucial to a child of God.  This ensures that we are rooted and grounded firmly in Christ Jesus.  It is vital to empowering us to continue to walk as His children and serve as ministers of His gospel in this world.  You can’t bless others if you, yourself have nothing.  Life in this world drains a spirit of real life, of power.  If we aren’t rooted and grounded firmly, we’ll tire, wither, and even give up.  God doesn’t want to lose a single soul; so we can’t give up.  We only have a little further to go.  When I read this message, I think of Jesus praying alone in Gethsemane.  “Couldn’t you watch with me for one hour,” He asked the disciples who had fallen asleep.

Life Cannot Be A Failure

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we have the right to claim God’s power.  We have the same authority here that He has, thanks to Jesus.  We’re bid to lay claim to all that is ours in His Name.  We’re also reminded that walking in authority, and wielding the kind of power-also known as faith-requires discipline.  That’s where the stop, drop, and get back up with the right attitude comes in.  Stop that doubt, fear, or what have you in it’s tracks.  Drop everything and get back into authority.  When you get back into your authority, you will find, and manifest, the right attitude.

There’s a statement in the message: “You are feeling you have learnt so much that life cannot be a failure.  That is right, but others have to wait to see the outward manifestation in your lives before they realize this Spiritual Truth.”  I want to focus on “life cannot be a failure.”  Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesus Christ is the truth, the life, and the way to both.  I don’t care where you’ve been-it was for a purpose.  I don’t care what happened to you-it was for a purpose.  I don’t care how many times you’ve blown it -it was for a purpose.  God took dirt and made a man; and brought him to life.  He can surely use your dirt, don’t you think?  Yes, and He can make a man, or woman, out of that. Look what He did with that woman at the well!  How many people became believers because of her?

Remember Jesus rose and was glorified.  In the resurrection, we will rise in glorified bodies.  But resurrection isn’t just for then.  Resurrection is for today; for right this minute, if you need it.  LIFE CANNOT BE A FAILURE-your life can be a failure as long as you don’t give up.  You have to seek the life within the death you’re experiencing.  It’s there because God is in all and is all.  God was in Christ’s death; His power resurrected Him.  He’s in every death you may experience in your life.  How many people were saved through Jesus’ death?  Any and all that believe in Him.  Everything you’ve been through has the power to bring life to others when you allow God to use it.  Right where you’re at right now, just determine to find the life in it, and let God bring you through it.  Then, let Him use it to help someone else through you.  Your life was ordained to be eternal, and eternally powerful, life filled, beautiful!  PS -Yes, Maam, yes Sir, I am speaking from personal experience.  And I thank God every day for it all!

Laying Claim To It

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we are joint heirs with Christ Jesus.  “Heirs of God – you are joint heirs with Me in the inheritance.  We share the Father’s property. You have the same right to use and claim I have.  Use your right.  A beggar supplicates.  A son, a daughter, appropriates.”  That’s a quote directly from the message.

When we pair this with, “seek ye first the Kingdom, and all these things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:33), we have a wonderful key.  As I think about seeking first the Kingdom, I think about what spiritual need is linked to my physical, or material need.  “May you prosper as your soul prospers…”(3 John 1:2)  When we put those two truths together with “where your treasure is, your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:20-21), we can see a little more clearly, how the material is linked to the Spirit.

In the Spiritual storehouses, we find peace, creativity, freedom, joy, etc.-fruits of the Spirit that come from our training and lessons learned.  There’s also the Word, the Wisdom of God.  It is alive and doesn’t return to Him void. (Isaiah 55:11) -And, yes, we do have that same power.  That’s why we’re to be judged for every idle word we’ve spoken.  (Matt 12:36)  And, in reality, there is no such thing as an idle word, for the power of life and death are in the tongue. (proverbs 18:21)

What we don’t see in the spirit , but God does, is what we’ve given in the ways of obedience to Him, compassion and caring to our fellow man, little sacrifices we’ve made for love’s sake, etc.  Those are deposits we’ve made into the Spirit that ensure our prosperity, both spiritually and materially, down here.

In any adversity, it is essential that we tap into the spiritual storehouses.  “Guard well your heart for from it flow the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)  This means I’m not going to speak idle words such as, “I’m worried sick about how I’m going to do this or that,” or “I just don’t know what I’ll do,” etc.  It means I’ll speak words of faith like, “My god shall supply all my needs…”, “I can do all things through Christ Jesus, who strengthens me,” etc.  Let me tell you, I wore my Bible out practicing this one.  Finally, there was no more fear, doubt, and fretting; but, an assurance within that all will be well because God’s got it.  He will lead, guide, direct, supply, equip, and yes, comfort and encourage you.   The one thing that is essential to unlocking that kind of trust and peace is the solid knowledge and acknowledgment that you are His child.  You’re not a servant; you are His child.  You’re a son or daughter, a prince or princess in Heaven, a king or queen here on Earth.  You own it all because He owns it all.
