Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to breathe Jesus’ Name. That Name strengthens us and banishes all fear. Proverbs 18:10 is referenced: “The Name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it, and is safe.” As I thought about how many times I’ve run into it, in terror, in dejection, even in anger…and ended up holding my sides and laughing as I came out…

That leads me to this little treasure. On this day, August 29, 1964, Walt Disney’s Mary Poppins was released. It’s one of my favorite Disney movies! I’m posting the link to one of my favorite scenes below. It reminds me exactly of how strong we ladies really are…in all our own silly ways…and, yes, I’m pretty sure I, for one, give poor Jesus some good laughs…Just keep breathing His Name! That’s were we get that power, isn’t it? Oh, we’ve come a long way, Baby; haven’t we? LOL I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Thank you, Disney, for sharing!

A friend and I were discussing recent news headlines.  This included the Corona virus relief plan negotiations and Nancy Pelosi.   The lady definitely does play hardball, doesn’t she?  My friend-not a fan of Ms. Pelosi’s either, said, “Somebody needs to put that woman into a suitcase, and send her into outer space on the next rocket they launch.”

Being a Christian, I really don’t get too excited about politics.  I try to stay aware of what’s going on, but I trust the Lord.  God’s got it under control.  I believe that with all my heart.  Anyway, what came to mind was this image of all these little demons and devils and such, on all the planets out there, packing their belongings up and heading for the Black Hole in outer space… can’t you just hear them…-“OMG! They’re sending her out here!  Oh, HELL NO!!”   I laughed out loud; because the next thing I thought of was Hebrews 12:26, where God says, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

It’s been an interesting week news-wise, hasn’t it?  I read the other day that the NY State Attorney General is suing the NRA.  Yeah, she’s seeking its closure.  I was discussing this with a friend yesterday.  I told her I am definitely for the right to bear arms; and I’m sure glad our right to bear arms is guaranteed us by the second amendment in the Constitution.  One look at her face told me she was pretty serious about it too.  She said, “Oh, my God!  I didn’t know they had to get the government involved in that!  I’m so glad, too, though.  I’d die in this heat if I couldn’t wear tank tops!”   Yeah, she was serious about it, alright.  Now, where did I put that tank top?

Life Cannot Be A Failure

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we have the right to claim God’s power.  We have the same authority here that He has, thanks to Jesus.  We’re bid to lay claim to all that is ours in His Name.  We’re also reminded that walking in authority, and wielding the kind of power-also known as faith-requires discipline.  That’s where the stop, drop, and get back up with the right attitude comes in.  Stop that doubt, fear, or what have you in it’s tracks.  Drop everything and get back into authority.  When you get back into your authority, you will find, and manifest, the right attitude.

There’s a statement in the message: “You are feeling you have learnt so much that life cannot be a failure.  That is right, but others have to wait to see the outward manifestation in your lives before they realize this Spiritual Truth.”  I want to focus on “life cannot be a failure.”  Ladies and Gentlemen, Jesus Christ is the truth, the life, and the way to both.  I don’t care where you’ve been-it was for a purpose.  I don’t care what happened to you-it was for a purpose.  I don’t care how many times you’ve blown it -it was for a purpose.  God took dirt and made a man; and brought him to life.  He can surely use your dirt, don’t you think?  Yes, and He can make a man, or woman, out of that. Look what He did with that woman at the well!  How many people became believers because of her?

Remember Jesus rose and was glorified.  In the resurrection, we will rise in glorified bodies.  But resurrection isn’t just for then.  Resurrection is for today; for right this minute, if you need it.  LIFE CANNOT BE A FAILURE-your life can be a failure as long as you don’t give up.  You have to seek the life within the death you’re experiencing.  It’s there because God is in all and is all.  God was in Christ’s death; His power resurrected Him.  He’s in every death you may experience in your life.  How many people were saved through Jesus’ death?  Any and all that believe in Him.  Everything you’ve been through has the power to bring life to others when you allow God to use it.  Right where you’re at right now, just determine to find the life in it, and let God bring you through it.  Then, let Him use it to help someone else through you.  Your life was ordained to be eternal, and eternally powerful, life filled, beautiful!  PS -Yes, Maam, yes Sir, I am speaking from personal experience.  And I thank God every day for it all!

God Always Chooses the Very Best for Us

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God always chooses the very best for us.  The Bible tells us that His plans are to prosper us; not to harm us.

When we put this principle to work in our own dealings with one another, life begins to change.  Relationships become more meaningful, with deeper, more intimate knowledge of one another.  They also become more secure and comfortable; even better than comfortable is the word joyful.  That’s because when we give the best we have, we feel the best within us.  In turn, we  begin to expect the best to come about, rather than waiting for what can go wrong next.  Whenever we seek to bless the person, situation, or circumstance, we are in alignment with God’s will.  Hence, we cannot fail.  No, the results are not always instantaneous.  But, the victory is always His; and ours.

PS – Ramadan begins at sundown tonight, May 5th.  I want to wish my Muslim brothers and sisters a blessed month.  May you and your families be greatly blessed.

Is It Really “No?”

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that all the promises of God are yes and amen. (2 Corinthians 1:20)  That means that “I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.”  Just because it isn’t happening right now, or just yet, doesn’t mean we should give up on it.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9) Is referenced in the message.  As I’ve said before, it’s not always all about you because it is all about us.  God has perfect timing, perfectly pure motives, and perfect aim and reach.  So, if you’re ready to give up, don’t!  Look again, listen again, read it again, and see if you didn’t miss something along the way.  You just may have, and now is a great opportunity to get that thing-whatever it is.  That’s called gleaning, by the way.  Speaking from personal experience, God’s used the same exact scripture to speak to me in several different situations.  Now, this does not apply if you’re plans are for evil; I wouldn’t recommend that to anyone.  God will hedge you in to save you from yourself.  I’m speaking from personal experience there too.  Okay, ’nuff siad.  Have a beautiful day, know that God is with you, and He’s for you…so don’t give up!

U.S. The Independent San Diego synagogue shooting: Woman killed after ‘teenager opens fire’ on worshippers celebrating Passover

I’m terribly saddened by the news of yet one more hate crime.  Your congregation is in my prayers daily, and I stand with you all in spirit.  The woman who died saving the Rabbi’s life showed remarkable courage.  My condolences to her family; you are also in my prayers daily.

May we always remember there is only one supreme being; God.  May we come together, and stand together, as one nation and one race-the human race.

A King, A Queen, the Noblest of Servants

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we are to be servants.  There is no greater, no higher calling that the one to serve.  Philippians 2:6 tells us about Jesus’ heart.  “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:  Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant,…”

As I read the scriptures regarding our relationship to Christ, and to one another, I also reminded that Jesus told us to love one another like He loves us.  There are also scriptures that admonish us to do everything as if unto the Lord, as we are His servants.  Finally, in serving one another, we are serving the Lord.

We are kings and queens in the earth.  We can take some lessons about service, and learn some lessons about selfishness and selfish ambition from kings and queens of the past.  Those lands/nations and kingdoms, along with their lineages, usually fell; and pretty hard.  Some no longer exist and the memory of them is all but wiped out completely.  I’m also reminded of Solomon’s prayer for wisdom in governing his people.

I prayed that very prayer myself, in regard to my little family.  That was a turning point in our family; especially for me.  God always answers prayer.  But be prepared, He will work on you first.  That’s where humility and courage come in.  And, of course, your faith in God’s love for you helps tremendously; especially if you’ve come out of dysfunctionality, addiction(s), and abusive background(s) yourself.  I always say that I learned more about being a wife and mother from God than I did my own mother.  And I really do thank God every day for my grandmother.  Had I not had her example and her love early in my life, I never would have known the difference.  I’m quite sure I wouldn’t be who I am today.  You see, she served everyone, and in doing so, served the Lord.  When we do all things as if unto the Lord, we are actually exercising our authority in the earth.  We have the authority and the power to choose how we want to live, and what kind of legacy we want to leave for our children, and for others.  The noblest of servants is the king or queen who will stop, stoop, and serve his/her people in order to help them rise to their highest levels.

Saturday Silly –January 26, 2019

Recently, a friend and I were discussing all that hullabaloo over the wall that President Trump wants to build at the Mexican border.  Apparently, the problem is with the billion dollar price tag, right?

My friend said she has the perfect solution.  She said, “President Trump could make that whole thing very cost effective so easily.  He simply needs to give it a dual purpose; you know, make it serve double duty.”  I asked her, “How would he do that?  What’s your idea?”  “I sure do,” she replied. “Put a family park on either side of the wall, with camp spaces for while they’re waiting to cross or go back legally, and they can make that a climbing wall for the kids to enjoy.  That way they’d have something to do, too.”  I said, “ you know, you should run for president next election.”  To which she replied, “Yeah, and you can be my running mate.”  Oh, LORD, will I be running!!

Happiness Lies in Letting Go of it

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we need to surrender every moment to God.  In doing so, we empower happiness, and we disarm frustration, fear, depression, anxiety, anger, and all those things that bind us.  Those things will cripple you if you let them.

I am writing this on the 24th of January.  This morning EBT all across the nation was down; I believe at some 7,000 businesses.  I’m using this as an example, because when we let it go and let God have it, it’s worked out.  It has been from the beginning.

I jokingly said, “I’m calling Melania and asking her what’s for dinner.”  I saw fear on some faces.  Others looked confused, and some were angry.  I made myself my usual bottle of cold coffee, and found a spot to sit and pray.  There really is nothing else to do, is there, when it’s all out of your hands anyway?  Guess what; right down to the nitty gritty, it’s all out of their hands too.  God is still on the throne.  He says, “I will never leave nor forsake you.”  The Word tells us that the righteous are never forsaken, nor their children begging bread.  And it also tells us that God sends His rain on the just and the unjust.  That means He will take care of all of us-believer or not.

I prayed for the Lord to send His peace, mercy, and grace unto us all.  I prayed for a spirit of unity among all people; especially here in this country.  I had to thank Him for loving me, and for loving us-mankind-so much.  Unity, grace, and peace above all, are crucial if we are to get through this.  We are one kind – mankind, and in this country, we are one country; America.  As I sat and sipped my coffee, this song came to mind:
