There Is No Failure In Eternal Time

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we are operating in Eternal Standard Time.  “There is no age in eternity,” says the message.  Praise God! Praise God!  I knew it all along!  I’m 39 again, again.  LOL

The message bids us not to feel pitiful; to have not pity for ourselves.  Rather, keep going forward, unafraid, and joyously.  We are completely quipped and completed protected by our Heavenly Father, and all the hosts of Heaven know our names.  Isn’t that awesome?!

That brings me to this, from Isaiah 50:4 (ESV) – The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word  him who is weary.
Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught.

Two of the best places to get renewed and refreshed in spirit, and strengthened in faith and courage, are the Psalms and the book of Isaiah.  There’s always another little nugget I find whenever I read them.  That’s what Isaiah was talking about in that verse. Both Psalms and Isaiah tell us about the LORD’s love for us; of His protectiveness over us.  We learn of His foreknowledge of all things; and, believe me, He’s got us!

Simplicity Helps In The Striving

eden08122015

Happy Birthday, America!  God bless the USA!  May we have a beautiful and peaceful day, and may the spirit of unity as men and women of the human race prevail.

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God is our friend, as well as our Heavenly Father, our provider, savior, healer, and judge.  Getting to know Him in all those capacities really deepens and solidifies one’s relationship with Him.  In knowing Him and walking with Him, we become like Him.

The end of the message tells us to seek simplicity in all things.  As I thought about this in terms of relationships and generational curses, I was brought to the ten commandments.  I thought about the precepts and statutes of God.  He makes them perfectly clear to us, doesn’t He?  This makes, and keeps, the doing and being simple; don’t you think?  This is because we know what is expected of us, and what to expect from Him.  (Psalm 93:5) “Your decrees are very trustworthy; holiness befits your house, O LORD, forevermore.”

When we apply this principle to overcoming generational curses, to parenting -remember that new-born child within you -keeping it simple by knowing (1) what to expect. For example, when you’re living in an alcoholic or drug addict’s house, you never know if that person is going to be sober or drunk or high, or how incapacitated he, or she might be.  (2) What is expected of you as far as rules and requirements. This is the standard(s) and boundaries thing.  (3) What do you expect in and from this situation, environment, relationship, etc.  And, last but not least, what do you expect from you.  Lining ourselves up with God’s Word, and His will for us, helps to keep the expectations realistic and simple.

His Hand is Ever Over Our Lives

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God’s hand is ever working in, and over, our lives.  The message ties in perfectly with Saturday’s message about straying.

In Saturday’s message, we’re bid to learn the overcoming power of Jesus.  He wasn’t daunted by anything or anyone.  He knew who and whose He was, what His standards and boundaries were, and what His destiny was.  He also knew His purpose(s).  We all serve many different purposes in life.  They come according to needs-of others, and ourselves.

The way this message ties in with that one, is that it reminds us that there is a seal on our lives.  We are sealed to God Almighty, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.  We are reminded that He leads us-out of darkness to light, out of despair to hope and victory, out of temptation to overcoming power.  It is when we remember that seal is on us and our lives, that those standards and boundaries become clear and strong.  That’s how I can drink one bottle of beer or one glass of wine and be done.  I know who and whose I am, what my standard is, what my boundaries are, what my strengths and weaknesses are.  I know who is right there with me when I am drinking that bottle of beer or glass of wine.

There is so very much strength in being mindful of that seal on our lives.  If you walk out your front door with it in mind, you can walk away from anything!  It isn’t that Jesus needs to be called to our sides.  It is that we need to remain mindful that He is there.  And, He’s not there to judge you or condemn you.  He’s there to help you, to encourage you.  He’s there to give you the strength to get up and walk away.  It works in reverse too.  He can give you the strength to go somewhere you need to go, or do something you need to do.  Remember, His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  When we stay mindful of Him and His seal on our lives, His strength can, and will be perfected in us, to overcome the weakness.

Staying Close To The Lord

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us to stay very close to the Lord; to remain always in His Presence.

This is going to be a short and sweet one.  As I’ve said before, that closeness comes from seeking God in everything around us.  It comes by staying in His Word, through prayer, and through praise.  It also comes through that joy we carry within as a result of our seeking Him and abiding in His Presence.

Whenever I feel as if there’s a distance between my spirit and the Lord, I look around to see where I’m at, what am I doing, what am I not doing.  Usually, I find that I’ve gotten off the path and am slipping in my standards and boundaries things…my diligence is lacking, etc.  That’s when it’s time to turn and start seeking Him like a little child that’s lost his/her momma would.

Keepin’ It Peaceful Inside

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that peace within is worth every effort it takes to get it, and to keep it.  We are bid to stop everything until we’ve regained it.

Nothing of this world is worth losing yourself to.  Imagine your heart, mind, and soul to be made of glass.  Every time we let someone, or something destroy that inner peace, it’s as if they’ve thrown a rock through the glass and left a hole in it.  Pretty soon, the holes run into one another, and one day the whole thing just crumbles.

Inner peace is that peace with does pass all understanding.  It is, not only the peace between us and God, and the peace we have because of God.  It is also the peace we have with ourselves.  That one is really important because that’s where the weakness is.  That peace can be very, very fragile.  We guilt and shame and blame ourselves…sometimes over the silliest things, really.  We let others’ opinions disturb our peace, even to the point of it being destroyed completely.  There are a lot of people who have to check themselves into a mental hospital because someone has destroyed their inner peace.

This is where standards and boundaries come in.  This is where diligence comes in.  This is where steadfastness, or stubbornness comes in.  You not only have the right to define and protect your inner peace, you have a responsibility to.  One of the greatest things I learned from Jesus, is that very thing.  He drew the line, He walked the line, and He didn’t let anyone cross that line.  No, inner peace doesn’t mean you’ll never get mad or upset at, or over anyone or anything.  It means that no matter what’s going on, no matter how angry, upset, or overwhelmed you are, you know who and whose you are.  And you do the same thing Jesus did.  You draw the line, you walk the line, and you don’t let anyone cross that line.  You are a child of God Almighty, the Creator.  You are master over everything in the world that man must deal with.  It is not master over you, so, don’t allow it to master you.  When we learn this, it’s much easier to get up, dust yourself off, and keep going.  It’s also easier to stay on your feet in the first place.
