It All Goes Together

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to dwell in God’s Presence.  We’re told to dig deep into the soil of the Kingdom.  This message ties in with the one for Saturday, August 8th, and with my post on Friday’s message.  All three go together.

Friday’s message speaks of getting to know God intimately to dispel fear and doubt within.  Saturday’s message – read it at twolisteners.org- bids us to empty ourselves to ensure constant fresh supply.  This is so important when we’re finding ourselves stressed, anxious, angry, anything that’s contrary to the Divine Nature within us.  Immediately emptying ourselves of all that negative emotion and replacing it with truth from the Word of God, and what we know of God’s love and grace toward us, is critical.  This is the way we remain in His Presence.

Do you know what Satan’s goal in the Garden of Eden was?  It was to separate Adam and Eve from the presence of God-and from the security there is in His presence.  That’s why we’re told to dig deep into the soil of the Kingdom…you’ll find treasure upon treasure, strength upon strength, glory upon glory, until your faith is unshakable!  You will think, feel, and act like the king or queen you are ordained to be.  *Remember what the King of kings said, though: “I have not come to be served, but to serve.”  And remember Solomon’s prayer for wisdom, so that he could rule over his people wisely and justly.

Abide, Then, In Perfect Love

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to make our Lord, Jesus Christ the one abiding presence we are conscious of all the time.  This means we need to abide, then, in perfect love; because that’s what Jesus is.  God is love, and Jesus said when we see Him, we’ve seen the Father.

The message tells us that it is God’s eternal life flowing through us that is the miracle working power. Please read the message at twolisteners.org –  it’s a powerful one.  When we have that life eternal flowing through us, we have wholeness within; real life within.  Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.  (John 17:3 -NIV)  This spills over into every aspect of our lives, and touches the lives of others.

Fear is the greatest obstacle to remaining in this consciousness of God’s presence.  Why?  I believe it is because we do not know God personally.  We try to be good Christians; but forget that we are Children of God.  He’s our Daddy!  As I’ve read, especially in the Psalms and Prophets, I’ve seen more and more clearly God’s heart for us.  In Jeremiah 4:19 God says: “My anguish, my anguish! I writhe in pain!  Oh, the pain in my chest!  My heart pounds within me; I cannot be silent.  For I have heard the sound of the horn, the alarm of battle.” (BSB)  That battle is the battle against fear and condemnation, against doubt, and detachment.  Nothing can separate us from the love of God; but we can, and do stray-especially when we’ve done something wrong and are afraid.  But  Jesus said, “”I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (1John 4:18-NIV)  Being made perfect in love includes knowing our Heavenly Father’s deep, deep, steadfast, and awesome love for us!  The more intimately you know Him as Father-I call Him Daddy-the less fear you will have in your life!   The more, peace, joy, and power you will gain.

Doubt Fades in the Light of Intimacy

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God longs for us to know Him as intimately as He knows us.  While that degree of perfection in intimacy is seemingly impossible for us to achieve, I believe with all my heart that we can come pretty darn close to it.                                                                                                                                I’ve had days that were near perfect in regard to feeling and experiencing that oneness with the Lord.  I wish I could say that I get it right every day, but I am not perfected yet.                                                                                                                                      There’s a statement in the message that reads like this: “It is not sin for one who knows Me only as God, as Creator, to doubt Me, to question my Love and purposes.  But for one who knows Me as you do, as Friend and Savior, and who knows the world’s God as Father — for that one to doubt My purpose and saving Power and tender Love is wrong indeed.”  I learned two things from this.  The first is that God does not hold us at arm’s length.  Neither, therefore, should we hold Him at arm’s length.  Nope, we need to snuggle right up under those loving arms of His.  We can wrap our arms around Him and just rest there, in His embrace, whenever we want to.  He loves it!  Secondly, when things aren’t going as smoothly-especially within-as they should be, I need to examine how I’m relating to God.  Am I out there at arm’s length, or even further, from Him in my heart?  And if so, why?  What am I trying to hide, avoid, or what am I afraid of, etc.?

Do you know that God makes you so bold, that you can even laugh out loud at your own self?!  Yessir, He does!  And He loves us so, He’d a whole lot rather see us laugh it off, get back up, dust ourselves off, and keep on going toward home full tilt, rather than watch us taking timid little steps as if we’re walking on egg shells.  That stuff will cripple you altogether if you’re not careful.  You get into sorry mind sets and pathetic attitudes, all based on fears, because you’ve gotten too far away from your strong tower.  Remember who prowls out there, waiting to use that fear against you.  There’s only one solution to that problem, and that is to get right back into God’s presence and spend some time with Him.  One of the reasons I love my daily visits with the Lord so much, is that every moment in His presence infuses my spirit with His life, His love, His grace, mercy, peace, and joy.  Isn’t it awesome that God can pack a day’s worth of “go gettem” into a few minutes of your time?!  Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your awesome love and mercy!

The Sabbath Rest Empowered

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God’s friendship is truly deep, intimate, and abiding.

Quoting directly from the message: “But to My subjects I have given the right to enter My Presence when they will, nay more they can summon Me to bedside, to workshop – and I am there.”  We have access to Him any time we want or need it.  We have but to call Him, and He’s there.  Isn’t that a wonderful assurance?!

When we cultivate a constant awareness of this truth, all fears, worries, doubts, etc., truly do vanish.  The Sabbath rest of walking in God’s abiding love, His presence, is empowered.  The longer and stronger our walk in that Sabbath rest is, the more our faith is empowered.
