In the Eyes of Jesus

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us of our Lord’s words in Matthew 11:29 and 30: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

We are bid to see the world as Jesus sees it; through the eyes of love.  (1 Cor. 13) – Love is gentle, and is not puffed up, but is humble of heart.  Then we get to verse 30 of Matthew 11, and this is the kicker: “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

When I think of that verse, I think of a day when my son dropped a bag of cookies at the checkout.  I laughed and said, “Oops, that’s the way the cookie crumbles, isn’t it.”  My son laughed then too.  He said his dad would have gotten angry and scolded him for dropping the cookies.  “My yoke is easy.”  “For which is easier to say, “Get up and walk”, or “your sins are forgiven you?”  Jesus’ yoke, or way, is to make life easier for you to live.  “I came that they might have life and have it more abundantly.”  Where there is fear, there is no freedom, and without freedom, you are vulnerable to death in all ways and forms.

“My burden is light.”  Jesus said, “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” His burden, or task and intent, is to show us a better way.  That way is the way of love, peace, order, and joy.  It is the way of freedom from the bondage of fear and the weight of harsh punishment; or punishment at all.  That way is the one which empowers personal responsibility and choice; and self esteem, or self-respect.  When we apply these truths to ourselves, and walk in them diligently, we can become life changers.

This is an old one, but it’s an awesome song, and fits today’s message perfectly.

Keep the Faith- Keep the Miracles Coming

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that Jesus cannot work miracles in our lives if we don’t believe in Him.  “Be it unto you according to your faith,” and, “Your faith has saved you,” are two things Jesus spoke.

I found out when I began to pray, just lifting everyone up to the Lord, and thanking Him for all He’s given me-and all He’s withheld, my walk changed.  By that, I mean that it sort of set the tone for the whole day to one of faith.  I stopped waiting for the other shoe to fall.  Worry, anxiety, upset over little things just went out the window.  Here’s the awesome part.  As I grew into this attitude of faith, I found more and more things to be thankful for, because God’s got me.  Let me tell you what a weight comes off your shoulders!  You find yourself smiling more, frowning less, and laughing so much at some of the little stuff that used to send you over the edge.

This attitude is the same attitude those two women in the Bible had.  “I know who you are, Lord, and I know who I am!  I know you are my miracle!”  Note, please, that I said, He is your miracle.  Guess what; when you got saved, you got your miracle.  You got all the miracles in that one!  You have to but trust the Lord, and walk in His promises.  “I will never leave you or forsake you.”  “Ask, and you shall receive, seek, and you shall find, knock, and it will be opened to you.”  When we walk in an attitude of faith, and, I believe, thanksgiving and praise, that door stays open to us.

Keeping that thankfulness, praise, that faith, is part of the battle. -The greatest part of the battle.  Do what you have to do to stay strong in your faith!

That’s What Friends Are For…

eden08122015

Sharing this one for a friend today…Hope this will slow you down, wrap itself around you, and give you a little comfort.  Whenever I hear this song, I think about my good friends; those that are close as or closer than family.  This is what we do for one another, and that’s what friends are for.  Nobody says it better than Mr. Don Mclean…

Success is at His Throne

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that it is through obedience to truth that we obtain the prizes.  An example would be that six pounds I lost because I walked diligently approximately 16 miles a day.  The truth is that I needed to walk more than I was walking to get the weight to come off.  I obeyed that truth, and the weight came off.

You have to be careful about words like prize, reward, even blessing and the like.  You see, our ideas of what those things are, and God’s ideas of what they are, are very often different.  Blessing, for instance, is something that I walk in daily, ever since the moment I became a child of God. -Even before that because I had a praying Grandmother.  I am blessed.  Prizes are great fun to win, but I’m not in competition with anyone.  There is no earthly prize that compares to the love of God.  The prize I want to win is a clear, concise understanding of His Word, His Word to me, and His Heart and Will toward all.  As for the rewards…Oh, my goodness, when I’m sitting with my cup of coffee and surveying my nice clean and orderly space…that’s a reward.  The space is now ready for me to create in.  We often don’t think in those terms because we’re here in a material world.  We don’t really think of rewards being of an emotional nature, or of spiritual revelation being prizes.

“When your material goal is reached then the material will serve only to attain the spiritual.”  -a direct quote from the message.  God seeks those who worship Him to worship in spirit and in truth.  The more we become attuned to truth in our situations, events, daily living, the more we are able to connect that with spirit.  Finally, the two merge, and it becomes second nature to seek to attain the spiritual first.

Prayer & Praise Move Things In the Spirit

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we need to value prayer and praise much more than we do.  I don’t think that we, as Christians, really fully understand the concept the Spiritual Realm.  That’s what prayer and praise are given to us for.  Do you know that when you pray or praise God, you are doing battle in that realm?  The Holy Spirit is not the only spirit operating here on Earth.  Jesus spoke about unclean spirits.  There are a couple of examples, one in Luke 13:11, and another in Acts 16:16.  I’m sure one can find more.  Fear is also a spirit.

The message tells us that service for God is not always activity in the flesh.  We’re admonished regarding a life apart filled with prayer, and told that God’s Spirit could accomplish much more if we all made a point of following this instruction.  That doesn’t mean that we cease doing…the poor and hungry still need to be fed and clothed and ministered to.  But I have to agree with the message here, and say that I think we could minister much more powerfully if we waited on the Lord/LORD and did some battle in the spirit through prayer and praise first.

God willing, I am recuperating from my angiogram today.   Have a beautiful day!  This is the song I want to share with you today:

Yes, it is Jesus!

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that there is no other Name by which one can be saved.  Only Jesus can save us.  At the Name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.  He is the King of kings, the Lord of glory, and the Lord of my heart!

I’ll be having my angiogram done today, and hope to be back with a praise report for you all tomorrow, June 18th.  Thanks to everyone who’s praying.  Thanks to all who have encouraged me, and thanks for all your help too.  Bunches and tons of love to my kids and grandkids!  I love you all so much!  Thanks for being my babies, Babies!  Hugs and kisses to you!  Same goes to my family and friends-I love you all to the moon and back!

As I said, if and when I do go through those gates of Heaven, I will enter them with praise in my mouth and thanksgiving in my heart.  So, this is the song I’ve chosen for this day…

Thank You, Heavenly Father

eden08122015

Bonus song for the day.  Thank you, Heavenly Father, for your love, and for your love in my life.  Thank you to all the “Dads” in my life, for your counsel, your help, your time, your patience, and your peace, given to me just when I needed it most.  I love you much more than I will ever be able to express.  May your day today, and every day, be blessed with love and beauty, the joy and peace of the Lord.

Seek Him Early & You Won’t Have to in the Storm…

eden08122015

Happy Fathers’ Day, Gentlemen, one and all!

Today’s message from God Calling -A.J. Russell, bids us to seek the Lord early-before He gets crowded out by what we call life.  We are admonished to rest in God’s truths, to walk in His ways, and to seek that rest just as eagerly in the good times as we do in the bad times.

When I read this message, I think about mornings when I’m sipping my coffee outside.  Often a little bird or two, sometimes three or four, alight close by and begin to chirp and trill happily.  Do you know that’s God?  Yes, indeed.  That’s one way in which He sends us joy and beauty through His creation.  Experiencing that completely changes your day.  There’s a joy that settles on you and stays with you throughout the day, all because of the silly little birds.  That’s the resting in His ways and truths.  When we seek God in the things around us, He will be found by us; and the question of whether or not He’s with us in the storm, won’t even arise.
