Come Unto Me For It All

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that when Jesus said, “Come unto me,” He meant for everything.

So often, we’re going to church, going to bible study, going, going, going…going to the Lord…for the Lord.  So we think.  But, God really has no need that we can supply.  When we’re told that we are to serve the Lord, it’s for our benefit; not His.  Yes, He benefits, because we grow in faith and in the fruits of the Spirit, and the Kingdom of Heaven is increased.  But, God has no need for us to serve Him anything or in any way.  He has the angels for that.

Yes, we are to go to the Lord.  We are to come unto the Lord for every need we have, great or small.  We are merely human; flesh and blood.  That puts us at a disadvantage in the spiritual realm.  Jesus is more concerned about our spirit than our flesh.  Jesus, however, knows the limitations of the flesh, and knows that when the flesh suffers, the spirit suffers, and vice versa.

Finally, the greatest reason for us to come unto the Lord for everything, is to develop boldness in approaching the throne of God.  We are children of God, fellow heirs with Christ Jesus.  We are not beggars or slaves.  We are not even servants, although we serve.  God doesn’t want us to be timid in approaching His throne.  If you’re timid in approaching God’s throne, how will you approach any other throne when the time for that comes?

He Hears…Do You?

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God’s ear is attuned to our every heart’s cry.  We need not even voice the need, and He knows it already.  Voicing it is more for our benefit than for His.

As I read the message, I thought about those unexpected encounters we have.  How often, I wonder, is that one sent by God because He heard their heart’s cry?  How often, I wonder, do we miss that same cry?  We get so busy, we get overwhelmed by emotion, fear, doubt of ourselves, etc.  So we don’t respond accordingly, or we don’t respond at all.  But, when we attune our ears-the ears of our hearts, we’ll be sure to catch that cry.  The Holy Spirit is a great interpreter.  When we open ourselves to the assurance of God’s love for us, it’s easy to allow the Holy Spirit to do His job-in, and through us.  I’ve chosen David Crowder’s “How He Loves Us” to go with today’s post.  It speaks so loudly and clearly of God’s ever present love and caring for us.

They’re Stepping Stones

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that it will all make perfect sense to us one day.  We’re bid to trust and wait, to persevere, knowing that the pieces will all fit into place.  One day, we’ll see the whole picture, and it will be beautiful.

We go through difficulties, we go through others’ difficulties with them, and we witness and feel the pain of horrific things that others go through at times.  Sometimes the way gets so dark and dreary.  Life can sap your strength if you don’t hold fast to God’s promises.  When we do hold fast to them, all those difficulties, all those anguished moments, all that “stuff”…it all becomes stepping stones to and through the places God needs us to come to and to be in…and in the end, they’re all little pieces that make a beautiful picture.  “Heaven’s hues,” we’re told are much too intensely beautiful for us to bear at the moment.  But one day…just you wait and see!  That’s God’s promise to each and every one of us.  Jesus endured the cross for the joy set before Him, the Bible tells us.  So, we can endure, for the joy set before us, as well.

Thank you, Veterans, for all you’ve endured to protect my freedom, and insure my safety here at home, and abroad.  I love you and am so grateful to, and for, all of you!  God bless America!

Gaining Strength And Power

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that nothing is too small to be conquered.  As a matter of fact, if we don’t deal with the small things, we often may find ourselves in big trouble.

We’re promised that in Christ Jesus we can do all things, and all things are possible to those who believe.  Jesus said if we have faith the size of a mustard seed-the tiniest seed, by the way-we can do anything.  So whenever we see a tiny flaw, it must be corrected.  When we feel the tiniest shadow of a doubt, we must dispel it.  When we get the tiniest feeling that something may be amiss-be it in someone’s attitude, some situation, whatever the case may be-we must seek to set things aright.

The lesson here is that we’re not to wait until it’s too late and big trouble has already found us.  The message tells us there can be no failure with Jesus.  That reads two ways: We are not to accept failure, but rise to victory.  The second side of this is that God has promised this: “I know the thoughts I have toward you; plans to prosper you, and not to harm you.”  That’s in the Bible!  Therefore, we can rest assured that our efforts to gain strength in faith and fortitude will be rewarded with the power to overcome, and with victory.

Saturday Silly – November 9, 2019

eden08122015

When Lilly came home from school, she couldn’t wait to show Mom the November calendar.  “Look at all the different holidays, Mom,” she said. ” This isn’t just the month for Thanksgiving.  There are all kinds of things being celebrated and observed.”   Mom asked, “Which one is your favorite, Lilly?”   “I love peanut butter,” said Lilly.  “So, the fact that this is Peanut Butter Lovers Month.”  Then Lilly got a sly grin on her face.  She said, “You know, Mom, it’s also Sleep Comfort Month.  You could buy me that new bed I’ve been wanting.”  Lilly’s mom chuckled.  She picked up the calendar page Lilly had brought home, and pointed to November 6th.  “This is just “Nacho Day,” Lilly,” she said.

Your Cross Filled With His Power

eden08122015

I chose Hillsong’s “Man of Sorrows,” for today’s musical post.  When we take up our cross, it’s filled with His power…and we’re empowered to turn that sin into a blessing…God promises to take whatever’s meant for evil against us and bring Himself and us glory through it.  Beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning.  Hallelujah!

By Nailing Them To Your Own Cross

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that Jesus died for all.  He bore the sins of every single human being that ever has lived, and ever will live, and nailed them to the cross on Calvary.

We’re bid to wipe the slate clean as far as all are concerned.  That’s a daily practice, because we’re human and live in the world.  I’ve been doing a Bible study on the cross, and as I read this message, it speaks to me of nailing the sins others have committed against me, to my own cross.  When God tells us that He will remove our sins from us, as far as the East is from the West, He means all sins.  That includes those committed against us by others, as well as the fallout we suffer from the sinful condition of humanity (hatred, prejudice, all the horrors that occur in our world).

Jesus tells us to take up our cross and follow Him-and that’s a daily practice for the same reasons I stated above.  If He nailed our sins to His cross, why do we even need one?  We need one for the same reasons Jesus needed that cross on Calvary.  We need to nail those things to our cross, and then, just as Jesus did-and still does today-go on loving and living.  God is love, and we are His children; we are love.  If we allow those sins to have a stranglehold on us, love will be destroyed.  When love is destroyed, humanity will be destroyed.  As long as we don’t nail those things on our cross, we will hold them in our hearts.  As long as we hold them in our hearts, they will have a stranglehold on us.  Jesus blood on that cross didn’t just cover the sin.  The life is in the blood…Jesus’ blood brought life where death had a foothold.  He broke the hold death had on humanity.  When we nail those sins to our cross, we’re doing the same thing.  You see, what you nail to your cross has the power to save someone…because of the Royal Blood that flows through your veins and over your cross.

Busy Proverbs 31 Woman

win_20170116_14_42_20_pro-2

Ah, yes; I’ve been busy crafting and creating.  Have my own little booth on Bonanza.com, and I thought I’d share with you.  Literally working my way back up from the ground up.  Carrying my wares with me on my little cart.  I work on my crochet craft projects right on the street.  My vision is for a place where homeless people can have a safe place to sleep and work from, to get back on their feet.  My goal is to help others help themselves by helping them to discover the gifts God has put into them.

I hope you’ll take a minute to browse my booth-more items forthcoming, and let me know your thoughts.     Eden Stillwater Creations Booth
