Wow, so much going on…I found a wonderful, healing, glycolic acid serum for my face.  I’m loving it!  I was discussing it with a friend, and she told me that getting a gallon of water a day, can take ten years off your face.  I thought, that’s wonderful, but I’m sixty and have had four children.  When I drink a gallon of water, I’m in the bathroom all day! -Whose going to see me?!

President Trump was in town Wednesday.  I didn’t get a chance to see him and ask him about how his “president’s day” went for him.  I heard from someone that he hung a picture of a donkey on a wall and spent the day playing “Pin the Tail on Pelosi.”  LOL

No Evil Force Can Hinder His Power

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to go just one step at a time.  That’s the way the Lord does it.  We are warned to be more concerned about Spirit unrest than even something as devastating as a natural disaster.

When I read this, I was led right back to Deuteronomy 28:7 – “The LORD will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you. They will march out against you in one direction but flee from you in seven.”   There’s also verse 13 – “The LORD will make you the head and not the tail; you will only move upward and never downward, …”  In regard to this, we must keep in mind that God is concerned with our spiritual well-being before anything else.  This is because all else manifests from within; from spirit, outward.

We are also warned that it is we, ourselves, who impede God’s working on our behalf.  Therefore, we are to turn out all fear that assails us, worry, doubt, and, yes, attitude.  We are to take time to get into God’s Presence until calm and joy are restored within.  The way we do that is by doing what 2 Cor. 10:5 tells us to do: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ ”  This is why learning from those “red letters,” is important.  Jesus tells us that if we have faith the size of a mustard seed, nothing will be impossible for us.  And, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” (Matt.12:22)  Heaven is our home, but life here is our school; and, school is in session until God calls you home.

Knowing & Claiming What’s Yours

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that we are not beggars in the Kingdom of Heaven.  We are the children of God, and fellow heirs with Jesus Christ, our Lord.  The message bids us to claim what’s ours.

Here’s where Deuteronomy 28:2-13 comes in.  This passage of scripture tells us what’s ours.  It’s also a good checklist for us to go by.  If you’re having to compromise yourself, your peace and freedom (spiritually), your inner joy, etc., something’s amiss.  You can usually find it by checking this list.  We are to claim and take hold of our blessings.  This is where purposeful choice, diligence, and discipline come in.

Apply this list to your life, check it weekly or monthly, and whenever you need to re-align to restore peace and order.  You will be amazed at how much your faith and peace will be strengthened.

Studying The Gospels

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that Jesus is still our teacher today.  We are bid to strive to endure whatever may befall us; and to endure it with love and laughter.  That doesn’t mean we should laugh about what’s happening, or that we should love it.  It means we must continue to love and to laugh, within and with others, in spite of what goes on.

The message makes a statement that is a very powerful revelation to us.  “Go through all I have said to you, and live in every detail as I have enjoined you. As you follow implicitly all I say, success — spiritual, mental, and physical — shall be yours. ” -quoting directly from God Calling @ twolisteners.org   This tells us that the Gospels are not merely the story of Jesus’ birth, life, and death.  There are instructions there for us to be empowered and encouraged by.  They are the means by which we can achieve growth and succeed in this life, and in the next.  Remember we will be rewarded according to what we have done here, when we get there.  I made it a daily goal to study one chapter or two,  of just the lessons that Jesus taught or the way He handled situations He encountered.  Although He was the Lamb of God, He was also the Lion of the tribe of Judah…and still is both today.  Like a father or mother teaches his/her children, so we need to be taught by our Lord, Jesus Christ, and by our Heavenly Father.  *”I and the Father are one.” -Jesus’ words.  As we do this, we learn more about our Lord, and our Heavenly Father, and we grow in strength, power, and authority.

David Crowder sings a song titled: Red Letters, that tells it perfectly.  I hope you’ll listen to it, and be as blessed by it as I am.

Letting God Get You Through It

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that, just as a child trusts Mom or Dad to fix whatever he/she places in their hands, we must trust God.   When we purposefully reach for His Divine Power in any storm, it’s already over.  We win every time.

As I read the message, I think of Jesus in the boat with the disciples.  I know they didn’t forget who Jesus was.  Apparently, they forgot that the power was with Him, even in the storm.  And, if it was with Jesus, it was certainly with them.  (Mark 4:36-40)  “Why are you so afraid?  Do you still have no faith?” -Jesus asked them.  I would imagine the quickest way to lose faith would be to watch the water swamping your boat out in the middle of the sea.  I can see how your faith would sprout wings and just fly right off to somewhere.  Mine used to.  Here’s a key to locking in that faith:  “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)  Here’s another: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us“).” (Matthew 1:23)  Finally, there’s this one:  “…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” (Isa. 55:10-11)  READ, REHEARSE, AND RECITE THE WORD OF GOD!  In doing so, you will be rehearsing your victory, rather than your defeat.

Those three things sent, and still send me straight to the Word of God.  Here’s where your list comes in.  Find and write down every scripture concerning our power and authority in His Name, every promise of protection and blessing for us, etc.  Go to the Psalms and stir yourself up within when you are afraid.  There too, comfort yourself when you need consoling and encouragement.  I have prayed some of those Psalms, just like David did, and it is true: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”  It will cast down/out any thoughts or attitudes that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God. -or, are contrary to the truth regarding our authority and power in His Name, and His sovereignty over everything.  “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,…” (Philippians 2:9-10)

Leaving The Church Behind – What?!

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that the church, or body of Christ, is but the husk; a kernel.  The real/true life is within.  According to the message, you are that life within the kernel.

John 12:24 tells us – “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.”  -Jesus’ Words.  What does that mean to you as a member of the Church, or the body of Christ?  No, I am not saying leave your church, or do away with church.  We are supposed to fellowship, study, and worship together, regularly.  (Hebrews 10:25)  It means you can’t expect to grow in your faith just by attending church.  Remember Mary and Martha? (Luke 10:39-42)

When I read this message, I think of the woman with the issue of blood. ( Luke 8:40-44)  I think of Peter stepping out on the water.  None of the other disciples went with him.  ( Matt. 14:26-31)  I think of the woman who wept at Jesus’ feet; and the one who anointed His head with perfume.  (Luke 7:36-48) (Mark 14:3-9)  *These last two really give us good examples of some attitudes you can find within the Church.  C’mon, I’m keeping it real, here.  I’ve had some of those attitudes myself.  That’s one reason we need to seek Jesus out as individuals.  Peter was alone, but Jesus didn’t say, “Y’all come,” He said to Peter, “come.”  Why?  Peter was the only one who asked to.  That lets us know two things.  First, we can go boldly to our Lord.  Secondly, we don’t need to be members of any group, church, sect, etc., to approach Jesus; He welcomes all who come to Him. (John 6:37)

Why is it important that you come alone; on your own?  We are individually unique, each of us created wonderfully and fearfully, each one of us, honored and precious in God’s sight.  There is no such thing as “a standard Baptist person, the usual Pentecostal believer, or even a uniform Jewish man or woman.  We are all gifted in differing ways, with differing temperaments, strengths, weaknesses, etc.  A potter doesn’t form and shape and refine a bunch of pots all as one lump.  He works and perfects each and every, single one.   Next time you’re in church, go alone into the Holy of Holies, before the Lord.  Your flesh, with all its fears and flubs, cannot enter in there; only spirit can.  (John 4:23-24)  Go quickly!  Go boldly!  He loves you so much!  It’s there, alone with Him, your spirit finds its life!  Then, that life is so much more powerful, to so many more that He loves.

Always Seek The Silence – God’s There

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that God speaks in the silences.  We are bid to seek a silence when the noise within gets loud; to wait silently before Him.  You can read the message for yourselves at Two Listeners   Make it a habit to seek and run into the silence, when the noise gets on the inside of you.   God is there waiting to deliver you.  He spoke into my silence Thursday morning; right on time.  Thank you, Lord, for all those beautiful brothers and sisters out there, who hear your voice and obey.

Morgan Faleolo leads us so beautifully into the silence with this song!  May you be as blessed by it, as I am.

Saturday Silly – February 15, 2020

win_20170116_14_42_20_pro-2

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine Day.  As I’m writing this, I’m reminiscing about my first boyfriend.  I was in second grade.  I could tell he really liked me, because he was always snatching something off my lunch tray.  I really liked him too.  So, one day, I thought I’d let him know that.  As soon as he snatched my milk carton, I hit him over the head with the tray.

Now that I’m sixty, I think every day should be Valentine Day.  Hug or kiss somebody every day!  Yeah!  Things change when you’re sixty.  Sometimes, not for the better, either.  Like, when you’re sixty, you go to the bathroom, pull your pants down, the toilet flushes, you pull your pants back up and leave the bathroom…just to have to go right back in there.  I did that four times the other day, before I realized something was wrong with the “seeing-eye-toilet!”  Those sensors don’t always work right!

Keeping The Power Of Inspiration

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to allow inspiration to take the place of aspiration.  When we do this, the message tells us, there will always be plenty of work for us to do.

Job 32:8 tells us: “But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.”  The power of inspiration can elevate whatever you’re doing.  That’s how we get all those awesome recipes, beautiful clothes, jewelry, decor, etc.  The difference between aspiration and inspiration is, first, who is in control (God or you/Spirit or flesh), and the second factor is time.  Are you rushing, hurriedly, or are you at peace and working at the right pace.  The right pace is the one that gets you through from beginning to end, one step at a time.  Remember what Jesus said about His yoke being easy and His burden being light.  It stops being a struggle when you go it one step at a time.

Aspiration can bind us to time constraint, fear, doubt, and failure.  All those things limit us. Interestingly, the word “aspiration,” in medical terms, is not a good one.  It means you have taken a foreign object into your airway or lungs.  This can cause death. That means, what your’e doing can “suck the life right out of you.”

Keeping the power of inspiration involves making the choice not to settle for mere aspiration.  And, step one of keeping your inspiration, is to put inspiration first on your list, in regard to whatever you’re doing.  “in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:6)

Make the choice to be inspired by love, which is what God is.  I think that’s one of the reasons we’re told to do everything as if unto the Lord.  Allowing love to inspire us, empowers us to envision the joy, peace, love, etc., in the end result.  This, in turn, brings life into the whole thing.

Back To Spirit Converse With God

eden08122015

Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that the greatest work we can do, is done in time spent alone with the Lord.  We need to take time to make time to just be alone with Him.  “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life.  These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life.” (John 5:39-40)  It’s about so much more than studying the scriptures, isn’t it?  I have to thank Him every day, that He has ordained praise out of my mouth!  Thank you, Heavenly Father!  Thank you, Jesus!  Please read the entire message from God Calling at twolisteners.org  it will inspire you to spend more time with Him.

I found this song to help us step into His Presence.  It’s titled “Where You Are.”  Thank you, Kalley Heiligental and Jeremy Riddle; you are such an inspiration to me!

P.S. Happy Valentine Day!
