Wowie! We have so many holidays and observances during the month of October. This is Evaluate Your Life Day…I don’t think I have to worry about that one…there are plenty of other people doing that for me.
It’s also National Cookie Month, and National Apple Jack month. So, I’m buying some caramel apple cookies and some Apple Jack to wash them down with. Since it’s Pastoral Care month, I just might get some for a Pastor friend of mine, and his wife, too.
It’s also German-American Heritage month, and National Pizza Month. I’m working on a recipe for Bratwurst and Sauer Kraut Pizza. I’ll be making the crust out of potato dumpling dough…Jawohl…
The second week of this month was Fire Prevention Week, and Pet Peeve Week. I was reminded of the time my youngest son tried to toast a toaster strudel. I was on the phone. I felt him tap my arm. I turned, and there he was, scared little face, eyes as big as saucers…and there were flames shooting out of the toaster. I jerked the plug out of the wall and set the toaster in the sink for a couple of minutes. And here’s where the pet peeve thing comes in…Why is it always ME who has to remember to clean the crumbs out of the crumb tray?! LOL Yes, toaster worked fine after we cleaned up the mess…and cleaned out the crumb tray…and luckily, there was still a toaster strudel left for my son.
Love you from Cafe du Mondieu
