Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, bids us to seek beauty. Beauty speaks to the soul. Our Lord is the Beautiful One; and there is nothing more beautiful than love.
Acts 3:2 – “Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple …” As I was studying this message, I found this scripture. In regard to this message, it goes hand in hand with the one in John 14:16 – “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Seeking beauty should be a priority on our lists. Unfortunately, it all too often falls last, and takes us far too long to get to at times. But, if we make it a habit to look, listen, and become aware/stay aware of it daily, it has a curious effect on the soul. To me, it seems to work sort of like those exfoliating scrubs we us to make our skin beautiful. It sloughs off all the stress, weariness, and discouragements we are exposed to in the world we live in. It brings us back to the beautiful stuff within-love, peace, laughter, and joy. This concept works whether one believes in God or not, by the way…but Jesus is the most beautiful one, and I don’t want to miss a thing about Him.
