Today’s message from God Calling – A.J. Russell, reminds us that it isn’t life and its difficulties we have to conquer. Rather, it is ourselves; out attitudes, misconceptions, misunderstandings, and selfishness.
We often align ourselves mentally and/or emotionally with falsehoods; making wrong agreements with them, and being bound by them as a result. Quoting directly from the message: “When I died on the Cross, I died embodying all the human self. Once that was crucified, I could conquer even death.” That’s a really powerful revelation for us, especially when we’re feeling weak or overwhelmed.
“Once the human self is crucified, I could conquer even death.” When I apply that to myself, I am empowered to step up into my authority in Christ Jesus. I am empowered to step up into every declaration and ordination God has spoken over my life. Is that awesome?! I posted a bonus yesterday that lists some of those declarations/affirmations. It is titled A woman of Worth, but if you’ll remember, King Solomon prayed and asked God for wisdom; and there is no male or female in Christ Jesus, but all are one. There is only One in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus said, I and the Father are one, and we are in Him and He is in us-so we are part of that One. So, that list pertains to every male on the planet as well. We all too often look at those declarations and ordinations as checklists to see how we’re doing in our walk. Then we get disheartened because we believe we’re not doing as well as we should be. But, Jesus didn’t tell us to do perfect things, or do things perfectly. He said, “be perfect as your Father in Heaven is perfect.” God is love; and He operates in the power and authority of that love. That being said, we come back to the two greatest commandments: Love the LORD, your God with all you might, heart, mind and soul…Love your neighbor as yourself. When we keep this in mind, we are empowered to step up into the Spirit, where we should be operating from in the first place-in power and authority; in joy, and peace.
