You’ll Be Amazed

Okay, it’s time for those hats…

Today’s message from God Calling, -A.J. Russell, reminds us that God’s will is to work all things together for the good of those who love Him.  So often we think that it’s just not God’s will for us to have this, or to get that, or move here or there.

As I read the message, I thought about the parable Jesus taught about the talents, and the one about stewardship.  I thought about how many times He emphasized that it is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the Kingdom, to give us whatever we ask for in Jesus’ Name, and to care for us, making sure all our needs are met.  Then, when you look at Psalms, we’re told that God give us the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4).  There’s also that scripture that tells us all the promises of God are yes and amen (2 Cor. 1:20).

All that lets me know that if it isn’t forthcoming, something and/or someone is still being prepared for it.  That could be me; but you know what?  That could also be someone else.  You see, as I said, God works all things together for the good of those who love Him.  That’s why we live by faith.  We have to persevere in our faith, and in obedience to whatever it is we’re called to do.  Proverbs 13:4 tells us that the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied.  That tells me I have to keep going; I can’t give up.  My grandmother used to say, ” we can’t see around the corners, but God can.”  The culmination of all your efforts, all your tears, all your persevering, might be just around the next corner.  So don’t give up just yet.  Keep going, and know that God loves you, and God is answering your prayers and working it all out, for His glory, and for yours.

PS -Joseph, I didn’t forget your birthday, honey.  I just forgot to post a Happy Birthday to you.  Happy Birthday, and I hope your day was as wonderful as you are.  You’re the best nephew ever!
