You’re Not Waiting Alone

eden08122015

Nor are you alone in that “failure.”  Today’s message from God Calling -A.J. Russell, reminds us that the waiting is the hardest part.  The hardest lesson you’ll ever have to learn is waiting upon the Lord.  He does absolutely nothing out of order, or at the wrong time.  His timing is perfect.  The problem is our patience level and our endurance level.

When you’re going through the storm, and you want to scream at Jesus, “Don’t you care that we’re perishing?!”  Praise Him instead.  You know what?  He’s right there in the boat that’s being swamped by the waves.  Thank Him for being there with you.  “I will never leave or forsake you,” Jesus said.  Then He added, “even unto the end of the age.”  If the world’s still here, so is He.  That means you’re going to be okay.  He’s already got the whole thing under control and handled.  You just have to wait for Him to hand it to you.  To my dying day, I will be convinced that Jesus’, “Peace, be still,” was just as much spoken to the disciples as it was to the storm.

Psalm 42:5 asks the question, “Why, my soul, are you downcast?  Why so disturbed within me?  Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”  This is the attitude we need to take when the storms assail us.  Think of Paul and Silas in the darkness of that prison.  Still, they praised Him.  Then the walls shook, the doors opened, and God showed Himself faithful, didn’t He?!  There’s a miracle in every praise you lift.  God grows on you, and in you, when you do.  Going through something?  Hush – and praise Him!
