What?! Sacrifice My Control?!

Today’s message from God Calling -A.J. Russell, reminds us that sometimes you just have to fasten your seat belt, close your eyes and your mouth, and ride.  As much as we like to think we are, we really are not in the driver’s seat all that often.  However, God is.  And God’s a good, good, driver.

I’m writing this message on Monday, the 22nd, because I will be unable to post on the morning of the 23rd.  As I was standing in line  this morning, a pure white pigeon began walking around through the group gathered here, waiting for the library to open.  I had to smile and thank the Lord.  I’ve been going through a really hard time for some time now.  But in and through it all, God has never failed me-never!  And that little pigeon was Jesus’ message to me, “I’m walking this out with you, child.”

Sometimes you’re all the way up that hill, the kindling and coals are ready to set ablaze, and the sacrifice-your faith, your dream, whatever it is, is on them.  Included, is your sense of control.  You think, with heart pounding, “Oh, my God, please let someone be in control if I”m not!”  Because, now, you know that you don’t have as much control as you thought you did.  You know that there are spiritual forces out there that have the power to wreak havoc in your life.  And you know God’s promises too.  But, -and here’s that age old question again, “Are you sure?  Did God really say that?  Are you really sure?”  That’s the lit match in your hand.  Now you’re almost screaming within, “Oh, God, please say or do something! Anything! I’m about to come completely apart!”  And God sends a little white pigeon to walk through the crowd-back and forth, and past you a couple of times, kind of giving you a sideways glance.  “I’m here,” He says, and blows out the match.  “I’m walking with you, child.”  Yes, devil, I’m sure! Praise God!  I’m sure!

Love you from Cafe du Mondieu
